Whale Watching in Perth

Today was a very special day as we celebrated a wedding proposal with the whales! We are pretty sure the whales new something was up as unusually for the southern migration we sighted a competition pod of five Humpbacks all vying for the attention of the young female Humpback who was leading them on a chase around Rottnest Island. A beautiful visual display of big tail dives, peduncle slaps and a breach thrown in for good measure here and there! We left them to their competition and enjoyed the very special wedding proposal on this magnificent day with a big congratulations to the beautiful couple.

What an amazing experience. The captains lounge is massively worth it. Snacks and beverages provided throughout the journey along with educational insight from the crew. Not to mention having more space, freedom and visibility making this experience a lot more enjoyable.

I took my parents on this whale watching tour and it exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the boat not too big but with plenty of seats outside (and inside). We got super lucky and saw so many whales! The staff was super respectful of the whales and genuinely interested in their behaviour. Would 100% recommend.

Fantastic tour! We were lucky to sight the humpback whales on 6 Nov (as many have told us it was nearing the end of migration season). The mama and calf whales waved their pectoral fins and did multiple breaches that took our breaths away - they are truly magnificent!The team on board were great too! Checking in to ensure everyone caught sight of the whales and ensure those who were prone to seasickness were ok 👍 nausea bags are available. Watching the whales from indoor was decent too as the clean window panes provided a clear view.There are also colour pencils/markers and sea creature postcards for little ones to color and have fun.Highly recommend this tour! :)

The boat was clean and tidy with great facilities and the captain showed some impressive parking skills.The staff were friendly and informative. We were so lucky to see a pod of three mum’s with calves, who treated us to a real spectacular!The fact that we were able to download the images taken by the crew was great as they are much better than the ones we managed to get.All in all a great trip and would highly recommend !

Great tour and even better commentary! Very informative but also funny and down to earth. She talked about whales in general and also commented and explained the specific behaviour the whales were showing. We even saw calves and their moms breaching, playing and approaching the boat curiously. The Boat Crew seriously builds a trusting bond with the whales which allows them to document their natural behaviour and for us tourists it was very nice to see whales up close. Whale Watch Western Australia really takes their time to respect the whales and offer us a great tour at the same time. They even stopped so we could take a closer look at dolphins spotted in the harbour. And towards the end, they didn't rush back but were as happy as we all were when we discovered a playful pond. We came back 30min later than expected but only for the positive. I was surprised how good they did everything. So overall, it was a super unique and awesome experience. Would definitely recommend!!

We saw humpback whale a mother and a culf. And also a fur seal. It was a wonderful day, the staff were very nice, the vessel was luxury. Everyone was so excited. I will definitely recommend everyone to join their tour. They have free photos about what you saw to download on their website. We understand more about the wildlife, and let them take the lead.

A great two hour trip which was very informative. We saw a humpback mother and calf for about 39 minutes feeding and breaching. We learned a great deal about humpback whales.

Brilliant experience. The whales were out in numbers, and the crew were extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot throughout the trip. Incredible value for money at less than £50 for two hours. I wish I was in town longer and could experience the other tours in different seasons (specially blue whale and orca tours). Would recommend to anyone visiting Perth. Unforgettable experience. We went on Friday morning and saw lots of lots of whales. They were very active slamming with their pecs and jumping out of the water. We saw whales everywhere during the time we were out on the ocean. It was a pure joy which is why we went again on the day after.That day was different, more quiet, whales mostly logging on the surface not so active, but we saw two female whales communicating with their pecs from very close for several minutes with a calf swimming around and they wouldn't stop. The explanations given by the guide were enriching the whole experience as you understand a little more of why the whales behave a certain way. Thanks for these lifetime memories!

Even after more than 15 times with my Whale Watch family I am still as inspired and awestruck by the language of the whales. I took my dear friend from Scotland out with me on the 7th of October and she was so excited to see multiple mothers and calves so relaxed and happily playing near our boat. This was such a cool experience! I wish I had known from the beginning that you basically have to be on the bow to hear all the captain’s cool whale facts. I had read about whales and seen them in nature documentaries and thought I knew a decent amount about them but I never heard of their “pec slapping” behavior which was cool to see! There were also a few breaches that happened too fast for me to get good photos or video of but there are some photos on the webpage. I think the article writings on each voyage on the webpage (and photos) is a really nice touch!

My 10 year old grandson and I went on this amazing tour. We saw beautiful dolphins and whales close up and were able to learn about their habits and challenges. My grandson was so impressed that he spent the afternoon typing up everything he had learned so that he could share it with his older brother and revisit it whenever he likes. Thoroughly recommend this tour, so much incredible information is imparted throughout the tour and staff are on hand to answer any questions.

Great and fantastic experience! Saw at least 6 whales near the cruise. Some baby whales and adult whales. Not just tip of fin but can see whale jump out of surface! The onboard crew are very helpful, welcoming and warm. We got sea sick and vomited out on the sofa(didn’t see it coming …), they were very considerate and cleaned it professionally, and so warm and gentle , caring, to ease our embarrassment. The guide and explanations are superb , and they will tell you just in time when and where to look at the whales in action. Super enjoyable experience (minus the vomit part >_<). Will definitely recommend this to a friend.

Fantastic, highly recommend. We saw lots of whales and it was amazing. The staff are really knowledgeable and attentive. The boat was great too. We upgraded to the captains lounge was definitely worth it as you get to easily walk from left to right, front to back with no one in your way so you always get a good luck at the whales! Will defo bring family with us to do it again.

On a cold day we went out to see the wonders of the ocean. It was looking a bit bleak for a little while but the crew were able to spot some humpbacks further away and then the experience began. A pod of dolphins, a young male humpback and then two mothers with their calves. The information given by the crew and the obvious passion in monitoring these giants of the ocean was obvious in their approach to the animals and the passengers on board. Definitely would like to do this again.

Booked the trip without any great expectation but from the moment of embarking on the boat we were given detailed information about the whales and treated like royalty, with the bonus of actually getting to see many humpback whales. The most amazing experience. Staff were helpful, the boat was amazing and so clean and well-kept. The captain had so much knowledge of whales and we saw so many pods of humpbacks. They were not invasive of the whales and they approached the pods ethically and respectfully. It was just magical!

We went on the 2-hour whale watching tour out of Fremantle yesterday and had so much fun. We saw at least 4 beautiful whales, as close as 30 or so meters. The relaxed commentary was informative and entertaining. The approach was gentle and kind to the whales and we all were gifted with a great view as we maneuvered around the little pod. You could tell the team really respect these animals. I would recommend this! :)

Just when we thought we wouldn't see any, they surfaced. The trip back was even better sighting the whales. Our 2hr trip turned into 3 - appreciated that the captain and crew didn't rush back when the allotted time was up. Thank you for the photos!!!! That was a nice surprise. The team on the boat was very professional. All passengers received safety instructions at the very beginning of a trip for the whale watching. Probably in the future a safety briefing should be conducted two times - one before onboarding and second right after onboarding. There is always time to do it safe. Though the weather conditions were not perfect the captain managed to locate and build friendly relationships with three whales when the boat neared them. It was fantastic to see the whales 🐳.
