Best Perth Whale Watching Experience can be enjoyed with Whale Watch Western Australia as our family and team welcome Pod Members onboard to meet the incredible Humpback Whales of Western Australia! Sunshine, light winds and a turquoise see makes us all smile as today we cruised out to the sighting grounds and firstly met a young pod of Humpback Whales. Possibly the mothers first calf, she was only very young herself and baby was tiny but very healthy which was a great sign. Snoozing peacefully we left them to it as we could observe some higher energy further ahead and on our arrival came across a pod of seven social adults. It was a rather spectacular sight as they rolled and played in the calm waters with gentle pec slaps from a coupled of the pod members echoing out and attracting further whales to the ever growing social pod. Welcoming us into the fun we enjoyed listening to their powerful and playful trumpets as they all seemed to be loving this opportunity of enjoying each others company this morning and making the most of their time in the resting grounds.
Our midday tour was a very similar storyline as our first pods were sleepy and relaxed mum and calves making the most of this peaceful day. Tall blows further ahead indicated activity and as we approached we could see two seperate competition pods underway with a total of nine Humpback Whales. It was stunning to see so many big bachelor males trumpeting and lighting up the sighting grounds with their enthusiasm and excitement as the females flirted away with pec slapping and remarkable breaching. A truly beautiful moment to witness and be part of the pod as we were surrounded by so many Humpbacks in such perfect weather conditions. The breaching and pec slapping was combined as the female encouraged the males attention with one of the challengers joining in with flirty pec slapping of his own before launching into a massive breach that landed sideways! A spectacular way to complete such a special interaction with these amazing whales who have been competing for so long already, but still have the energy to display this most beautiful Language of the Whales.
