Whale Watch Award Celebrations

Whale Watch Western Australia

Whale Watch award celebrations it was today as on both tours we were surrounded by incredible breaching and head lunging, the Humpbacks were celebrating their award with us! Our team were still celebrating this morning the winning of the Tourism and Hospitality Award in the 32nd Belmont & Western Australian Small Business Awards 2025 and it seemed the whales were joining in on the celebrations. Our wonderful whales are the stars of the show and they are deserving winners of this award for the great joy they bring to so many lives every day. Our family are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside these incredible whales and have them as the centre of our business and a great motivation to create the best possible Whale Watch Experience in the world.

Today it was all about the Language of the Whales as the conversation was flowing on both our morning and midday tour as upon our arrival in the sightings grounds the action began. Breaching, head lunging, tail lobs and much excitement could be observed amongst all the pods as all the calves revelled in the opportunity to have some fun. Mother whales enabled their calves to be as noisy as they wished and they took full advantage of the opportunity! Breaching for over an hour as multiple pods all launched simultaneously, it was extraordinary to watch it all unfold around us as we travelled with the pods. Even a morning rain shower didn’t stop the fun and added to the drama as he breaching continued even once the rain cleared through, the calves were still breaching! Eyes wide open to keep a close eye on us and surroundings was a special connection to have with these beautiful baby whales. A most brilliant day and perfect way to celebrate a special award with the very whales that have made it all possible.
