Spectacular Whale Watch Experience

Whale Watch Western Australia

Spectacular Whale Watch Experience was enjoyed on both our morning and midday tour today with extraordinary surface language from both the mums and the calves! It was a spectacular start to our morning as within a short time of arriving four seperate mother and calf pods began to have a conversation. Breaching, tail lobs, head lunged, pec slaps and chin slaps were observed all around us as the multiple mother and calves made the most of a morning filled with conversation as the Language of the Whales was being practiced and taught. It was so very special to be amongst the fun and one little male calf in particular stole the show as he was surface active for almost 30 minutes nonstop! He was determined to be heard by every single whale in the sighting grounds and was leaping as high as his little fluke would allow and launching into full body breaches just off our bow. There so so much excitement that mother whale was inspired and joined in as she also launched into an incredible breach just off our bow before rolling over into some playful pec slaps.

It was extraordinary and we were all very grateful to have witness such a high energy display from these beautiful Humpback Whales this morning. The midday tour started at a much different energy level as mums and calves rested quietly and we observed a new pod arriving in the sighting grounds. Travelling together we noticed this female was relaxed as she covered ground efficiently and moved in towards where other must and calves were resting. She was polite and slowed right down as she got closer to the others with one mum and calf beginning to pec slap and call her over their way. Our Australian Navy vessel cruised past and it was wonderful to see everyone waving back, especially today the 31st October being the 108th anniversary of the Battle of Beersheba. One of the pods nearby decided it was time to welcome this approaching mum and calf to the resting grounds in spectacular fashion! The mother launched into extraordinary head lunging, breaching and pec slapping as baby followed along and it was just beautiful to see as both put all their effort and energy into this extraordinary display. Swimming directly toward our bow they then encouraged the other pod to follow them and soon both pods and merged together as we wished them well for an afternoon of social fun.
