Last Day of Orca Season 2026

Whale Watch Western Australia
Last day of Orca Season 2026 was bittersweet as we enjoyed a wonderful interaction with family pods we have not seen much of this season and farewelled our Orca for 2026. The weather has been changing quickly in Bremer Bay with shorter days noticeable and the chill of winter feeling not all so far away. It is a beautiful time of the year along the south coast with a lot of changes as it is not only the Orca increasing their travel distance in the search for food. Today we were thrilled to catchup with Hermes and her family pod who we have not seen much of this season as they have as usual been foraging further afield.

Kidji and her family were also present and they gathered together for a big social afternoon, a perfect way to celebrate what has been an extraordinary season. The boys were boisterous as they pec slapped and tail lobbed with all the youngsters mingling together excitedly. It certainly was a heartwarming moment to see Warnie who is the young Orca calf missing a dorsal fin racing over to us and we were so excited to see him and he was very excited to see us! Approaching solo and showing off just how much confidence he has grown since we last sighted him, Warnie did little zoomies around us and we were just thrilled to see him looking so well. It was a most fitting and perfect way to complete what has been a truely incredible season for our family and team. We have a big Daily Whale wrap-up planned for all this seasons highlights so stay tuned!
