The sun was shining for the 2016 Blessing of the Fleet at the Augusta Boat Harbour and thank you to all who came down to join in on the fun☀ Our Humpbacks were enjoying the lovely weather and on our morning tour we sighted our very first Dolphin/Humpback interaction for the season! Three big Humpbacks twisted and turned playfully with a pod of five Bottlenose Dolphins and it is always very special to see this happy and gentle interaction between the two species.
Our afternoon tour was a similar energy as all the pods we met seemed very curious of us, often pausing to come over and say a quick hello before continuing on their way. We also had two “logging” whales today who were taking some time to rest before heading out of Flinders Bay and rejoining the big migration north.
