Bremer Bay Orcas 2025

Whale Watch Western Australia

Bremer Bay Orcas 2025 has begun with a surge of Orca fun as today we were surrounded by four family pods all mingling and socialising with some incredible surface language observed. It was a rather spectacular day as a big blue sky and calm sea escorted us out towards The Patch. Arriving in the sighting grounds our team scanned the area carefully, picking up on signs of life in the otherwise peaceful Patch. It isn’t unusual on days like today for the Orca to go wandering but we could feel the energy in the area and no more than five minutes after our arrival the call of Orca went out through the boat. Two little rockets propelled themselves towards us as Samurai made his usual starring appearance in his cheeky, speedy fashion. The calves were in a mood today which soon flowed on to the entire pod as we were completely surrounded by play and social interactions. The calves would wrestle as the mothers kept everyone following along with powerful tail slapping.

Breaching and body lunging unfolded as new mum Moonbeam spun around on her fluke before lifting gracefully towards us in an eye to eye spy hop, what a showstopper she is! The fun continued all day long and it was fantastic to see Queen and Kidji’s family members make the most of the beautiful day with plenty of fun enjoyed. The calves were chasing down every single flying fish they could find which was fun to watch as they would accelerate below the surface before we could see a terrified flying fish launch skywards with good hang time to clear the area as best they could. Just prior to our departure we noticed multiple large movements of white water on the horizon. Curious, we made our way towards the activity and were greeted by much loved male Giovanni who seemed surprised and pleased to see us as he circled us repeatedly. He was travelling solo but company was not too far away as Lucky and her family pod cruised past us and were moving up towards his location. A spectacular day with the Bremer Bay Orcas and although we are just one week in to the season there is set to be many more fun times ahead.
