Bremer Bay wildlife safari was enjoyed on a stunning day as we enjoyed the company of an Offshore Bottlenose Dolphin super pod, our wonderful Orca and Pearl the Australian Sea Lion showing off her morning snack. It was set to be a magic day on the southern ocean and we had a very smiley visitor this morning as Pearl was once again showing us what she had found as she lifted a large bone up to us alongside the Steep Point to see. She would drop it and then return back to the surface proudly showing off her prize, such a clever girl and incredible to see her sharing her finds with us so far this season. Our first encounter was with a super pod of Offshore Bottlenose Dolphins with approximately one thousand individuals observed taking over an area as far as the eye could see. It was exhilarating to be part of this pod as they charged towards us and all took turns bow riding with plenty of porpoising and fun along the way.
Cheryl and her family pod spent the day foraging and playing as we enjoyed watching our apex predators on a superb autumns day. Millie was very excited to see us as she zoomed over for playtime and wizzed her way around the boat while Giovanni cruised over to say hello. The family was looking good and it has been a little while since we last observed them early on in the season. The youngsters kept busy today in and amongst foraging with a bit of wrestling and chasing to keep them entertained. The Australian Sea Lions were all hanging out on Glasse Island today as they enjoyed a spot of sun baking on the hot rocks. Two of the females were playing along the waterline as little pup Alby was very happily snuggled in with mum enjoying a big afternoon feed of delicious milk. It was a wonderful Bremer Bay wildlife safari day to enjoy the special wildlife that call this unique part of the world home in Western Australia.
