Bremer Orca Watch

Whale Watch Western Australia

Bremer Orca Watch on a beautiful day as Cheryl and her family pod were once again enjoying their time in The Patch amongst the picture perfect conditions. Bremer Bay Boat Harbour was crystal clear as we arrived this morning as schools of baitfish darted below the waters surface and we could see all the way to the bottom as stingrays cruised past on the lookout for breakfast. It was a lovely day and in a short amount of time we were enjoying the wonderful company of B-Slice and family who had remained it seemed close to The Patch overnight as they were still enjoying their time here this morning.

Sometimes waiting for prey to venture your way is more energy efficient than travelling vast distances, especially this time of the year when the volume of prey moving through the sighting grounds is consistent. It was lovely to spend time with them all as they cruised together with more interactive approaches from B-Slice, Gabrielle and Eddie who have been in very playful moods over the last couple of days. Some small successes were enjoyed today as a couple of oil slicks throughout the morning were observed indicating small meals had been captured. The family were relaxed and amongst a bit of foraging and playtime they also enjoyed some rest today as they snoozed efficiently. It is always special to watch Orca resting and we feel very grateful to have their trust when they decide to snooze nearby, enabling them to refresh before the next stint of foraging resumes.
