During our Augusta season we see some beautiful rainbows, last season we even cruised through the end of a rainbow out on Flinders Bay but unfortunately no pot of gold was found! A pod of 10 – 15 Common Dolphins were sighted today enjoying the plentiful baitfish around at the moment with many Gannets and Crested Terns also having a good days fishing.
Our Humpbacks were sighted just outside the marina wall this morning and continued moving through the bay as more and more whales stop by Flinders Bay before returning to that epic migration north. Six large Humpbacks in a competition pod jostled at the surface trying to see who was the strongest of them all with a lot of energy around the bay at the moment within these competition pods as males try to win the heart of a female Humpback and become her primary escort on her northern migration.
