Bremer Bay Orca Tours 2022 begun today as we celebrated the start of the New Year with Queen and her family pod. A beautiful morning greeted us as we departed the Bremer Bay Boat Harbour and made our way towards The Patch for the very first time in 2022 and shortly on arrival the call of Orca erupted onboard the Steep Point. Swimming straight towards us and glistening in the morning sunshine it was the most wonderful feeling to see the Orca of Bremer Bay looking so well. Queen moved towards our bow with her distinctive dorsal fin cutting through the blue Southern Ocean easily as she curiously looked back up to us, the Queen of the Canyon.
The rest of her family gathered with her and everyone was accounted for which is always a relief when we have our first interactions with each family pod at the beginning of every season. Wonks has grown again and his dorsal fin has sprouted a little bit more as the youngsters in the family raced around with much energy and enthusiasm. Albatross, Shearwaters and Crested Terns hovered around us throughout the day ever hopeful for a morsel of food as they followed the Orca’s every move. A joy to spend the beginning of a bright New Year with the incredible Orca of Bremer Bay and all of our wonderful Pod Members as Bremer Bay Orca Tours 2022 begins.
