‘It’s more than a tour – it’s an education’ Tripadvisor review

The Humpback whale is truly a miracle in oceanic migration of any species on earth.

The epic migration is over 13,000 kms without feeding relying on fat stores from Antarctica to the Kimberly’s and return, mother’s with calf in tow nurturing them all the way.

Humpback Whales

The most acrobatic of our magnificent Western Australian cetacean species, the Humpback Whale.

Humpback Whales can be discovered on their northern migration from late May to late August in Augusta and in Perth from September through to early December on their southern migration.

Join The Pod with Australia’s #1 Whale Watch operator and the only family owned and operated company providing our guests with the opportunity to Whale Watch Australia wide, all year.

Augusta is a beautiful coastal town located in Australia’s South West region and has a rich history intertwined with the migration of whales. Cape Leeuwin is a pivot point for the northern Humpback Whale migration as it is the most south westerly point of Australia. The sighting grounds are within Flinders Bay as the whales hug the coastline on their journey north providing the ideal location for whale watching in sheltered and protected waters.

To celebrate the largest migration of Humpback Whales on the planet here in Western Australia our Whale Watch family team have dedicated our time to creating an experience that will guide you through the history and incredible life story of the Australian Humpback Whale. Let our team be your interpreters for the day as we translate the Language of the Whales for you with our live and educational commentary.

Our vessels are dedicated to whale watching all year and have been specifically designed to operate in harmony with Australian cetaceans. Whale watching should be just that, watching and our moto is to observe and not influence behaviour. Sound is the main communication skill below water and our vessels have been designed to minimise sound pollution in the environments we work in. Our family team have spent many years and thousands of hours building a skill set and interaction procedures that are implemented onboard every tour. The art of whale watching takes time and patience, our family business has dedicated our time to creating a whale watch experience that allows you to Join The Pod® and be welcomed by the whales into their wild environment.

Australia wide we provide Whale Watch experiences all year with every tour providing our 100% Lifetime Sighting Guarantee to ensure that in the unlikely event that no whales are sighted you are welcome to Join The Pod again free of charge with our flexible rescheduling options.
